The University of Delaware invites applications for a full-time theoretical posdoc position with the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The postdoc will work in the group of Prof. Marianna Safronova. The primary task will be exploring novel ideas on searches for dark matter and other physics beyond the Standard Model with quantum sensors, including development of quantum algorithms for atomic clocks and other quantum sensors and development of concepts for space missions with quantum technologies for fundamental physics studies. The postdoc position is associated with collaborative QuSeC-TAQS: Novel Quantum Algorithms for Optical Atomic Clocks NSF project and an NSF Quantum Leap Challenge Institute (Q-SEnSE: Quantum Systems through Entangled Science and Engineering, https://www.colorado.edu/research/qsense). The postdoc will be expected to collaborate with other Q-SEnSE Institute and QuSeC-TAQS members. Position requirements: Ph. D. in physics by the start date of the position with research experience in theoretical particle physics or a related field; prior expertise directly related to primary tasks of this position is strongly preferred. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2025; applications will be considered until the position is filled. |
