The Department of Mathematical Sciences (https://www.mathsci.udel.edu/) in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a continuing-track assistant professor to teach in our innovative Mathematical Sciences Learning Laboratory (MSLL). MSLL employs active learning and other evidence-based teaching strategies, principles of continuous improvement, and a collaborative instructional team to study and improve teaching and learning in introductory college mathematics courses (e.g., College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus).
The anticipated workload is devoted primarily to teaching (9-12 credits per semester), with the remainder devoted to service and scholarship. The Continuing Track (CT) is UD’s permanent, non-tenure track career path. CT faculty enjoy contracts that increase in length over time, as well as many of the same benefits as tenure-track and tenured faculty, such as identical titles, a parallel promotion track, sabbaticals, and shared faculty governance.

The Master Machinist serves as the in-house expert for advanced manufacturing practices in the College of Engineering Student Machine Shop. These practices include, but are not limited to, CNC programming and operation (2 & 3-axis), CAD/CAM processing, welding, and high power laser cutting. The Master Machinist will work closely with faculty members to design and integrate and deliver training for advanced manufacturing practices into engineering courses, student competition teams, and core laboratory and design experiences for students. This individual will directly support engineering students at all levels on intra and extra-curricular experiences that relate to advanced machining practices; and they will coordinate closely with co-machinists, faculty, and student teaching assistants to coordinate safety, equipment, and material needs for student use of the shop at all skill levels. The position requires expertise in using statistical software including SAS and R, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in epidemiology, research design, and biostatistics. The candidate should specialize in biostatistics or advanced qualitative methods, possess an expertise spanning a range of research designs and analytic techniques including experimental and non-experimental design, advanced modeling, logistical data analysis, and Bayesian methods. The primary responsibilities also include working collaboratively with CHS faculty by providing expert biostatistical and methodological guidance in the design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of data from grants/studies in basic, translational, clinical, and/or population science research, which may include adapting or developing new methods to address novel design and analysis issues that arise.
