The College of Engineering (CoE) is one of the most complex academic units on campus with a broad range of departments, interdisciplinary centers, research institutes, and programs. The primary purpose of the Sr. Advisor (Chief of Staff) is to support the Dean in leading the short- and long-term priorities, initiatives and activities that relate to the academic, strategic and operational imperatives of the CoE. This position will be an advisory position to the Dean and members of CoE senior leadership team, as appropriate. The incumbent will be proactive in developing programs and initiatives to achieve and maintain an effective and efficient environment within the CoE.
Assistant/Associate Professor, Human Relations Administration (Continuing Track) Newark, DE
Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) in the College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a continuing-track faculty position in human relations administration to begin Fall 2026 at the rank of assistant or associate professor. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month academic year position.
Post Doctoral Researcher, Physics and Astronomy Newark, DE/Hybrid
The theoretical physics group at the University of Delaware and theoretical physics group at Johns Hopkins university are anticipating the appointment of a joint 3-year postdoctoral position starting in September 2026. The area of focus of this appointment is particle phenomenology broadly defined. The host at the University of Delaware will be Harikrishnan Ramani while the Hopkins group is led by David Kaplan and Surjeet Rajendran. The successful candidate will have expertise in theoretical particle physics and a PhD in physics or a related discipline.
Research Associate I, Delaware Geological Survey Newark, DE
The mission of the Delaware Geological Survey (DGS) includes research, exploration and service. Statutory charges include the following: systematic investigation of the geology of Delaware; exploration and research pertaining to the water, mineral, and other earth resources; preparation of reports and maps presenting its findings; and provision of factual information and advice to the officials and citizens of Delaware. Under the general direction of a senior investigator, the Research Associate I will independently perform basic data collection and applied research related to the collection, organization, and dissemination of data resources related to the geology and hydrogeology of Delaware.
Sr Events Manager, College of Engineering Newark, DE/Hybrid
Under the limited direction of the Sr. Advisor, the Sr Events Manager develops and manages the strategy, planning and execution of special events designed to showcase and elevate the mission of the College of Engineering (COE). The Sr Events Manager routinely represents the COE to and interacts with UD leadership, including the President and Provost; advisory board and Board of Trustees members; alumni and donors; government and corporate partners; and external and internal constituencies, including Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), Auxiliary Services, and Conference Services. The Sr Events Manager also serves as the primary event coordinator in support of Department and Center activities. This is a significant responsibility that requires the ability to work year-round with Dean-appointed committees; internal and external constituents; financial, fundraising and gifts-processing units; vendors, IT and communications professionals. The Sr Events Manager is responsible for ensuring COE events are strategic, well-executed, measured and communicated.
