Post Doctoral Researcher, College of Health Sciences in Newark, DE
The Treatment Efficacy and Language Learning Lab is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to serve as a clinical research manager under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Owen Van Horne. The successful candidate in Dr. Owen Van Horne’s lab will coordinate research funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the University of Delaware. We are in the final year of work a clinical trial focused on grammar intervention and uptake of therapy practices by parents and clinicians, as well as research on family support groups for children with DLD. Our lab uses quantitative and qualitative approaches, elicited production, naturalistic language sample analysis, and eye tracking methods. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, resourceful; and has excellent data management and analysis skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. Knowledge of online sentence processing, morphosyntax development, and/or developmental language disorder would also be a plus. It is important for the candidate to be able to work both independently and as part of a team and to be able to build and establish rapport with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The budgeted salary range corresponds to 30E pay scale in alignment with NIH postdoctoral salaries and will follow NIH pay scales. The position is offered as a one-year contract renewable dependent upon performance and available funding. It offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement contributions. Immediate start date available, temporary remote work possible if needed.
